Below is a list of our services. Our services are offered to patients in hospital settings and out-patients.

NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT

For children, adolescents, and adults

​Neuropsychological assessment is used to:

  • Identify the presence, nature, and severity of cognitive dysfunction,

  • Provide a baseline profile of cognition to track change over time, or response to treatment,

  • Inform treatment, recommendations, and rehabilitation strategies to optimise everyday functioning,

  • To assist and support treating doctors, multidisciplinary care teams, and family members,

  • Assist with insurance claims* (income protection, critical disease cover), personal injury claims*, temporary or permanent disability motivations*, curatorship applications*, school placement motivations, and aviation assessment (suitability for aviation services).​​

A thorough assessment of neuropsychological functions includes some of the following domains of functioning, alongside a detailed history interview:

  • attention,

  • memory,

  • language,

  • visuo-spatial ability,

  • motor functions,

  • executive functions,

  • judgement and reasoning,

  • and mood, personality, and behaviour.​

NEUROPSYCHOLOGY CONSULTATIONS

Individual or group sessions

One-on-one counselling for individuals or family members:​

We value a holistic approach to treatment and are passionate about seeing individuals with neurocognitive challenges, included and supported within their families and society. To this end, we offer therapy/therapeutic consultation to help patients process difficult diagnoses and adjustment to life post-injury.​These sessions are aimed to provide support and education for coping with the life-changes that are often associated with a changing/changed brain.​

 

Group sessions:

Supportive group sessions for individuals, family members, or carers to connect with others who are on a similar journey. These sessions are guided by two facilitators to ensure a balance of informative guidance, structured conversation, and helpful connection.

Neurorehabilitation:

We are open to developing compensatory rehabilitation programs in conjunction with individuals and their families, that seek to assist at a practical level. We opt for a collaborative approach, drawing on current research and evidence-based practices, to develop rehabilitation strategies tailored to your unique situation, resources, and goals. In addition, our sessions target affected areas of brain functioning with the aim to rehearse and improve, maintain, or adapt specified, goal-directed, areas of functioning.

MEDICO-LEGAL ASSESSMENT

Reports provided for legal matters

Typically requested by a legal team or relevant third-party, medico-legal and forensic assessments provide insight into a person’s neurocognitive functioning for the purpose of legal decision decision-making processes. These reports may be used as a source of expert evidence in court and legal matters.

 

We provide the following medico-legal services:

  • Road Accident Fund claims

  • Insurance/personal injury claims

  • Work capacity assessments

  • General legal matters in which an expert opinion is required
